Tim Johnson Memorial

Professor Tim Johnson joined Gies Business from London Business School in 2006. He served as the Karl and Louise Schewe Professor of Finance. He was a well-known researcher in asset pricing, macroeconomic dynamics, volatility, liquidity, and derivatives. He was an outstanding educator and was twice recognized by the Gies Business Alumni Association with the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award in 2012 and 2023. He cared deeply about the PhD program in finance and had advised and mentored many students who went on to successful careers in academia and industry.
